The Summer Literacy Initiative (SLI) has partnered with summer camp programs operating throughout Worcester to integrate effective literacy learning strategies that prevent summer learning loss for children entering grades 1-4 each fall. Launched in 2010, the summer program now ensures over 1,200 at-risk children in our community achieve grade level reading to prepare them for future academic success. Family Services of Central Massachusetts is grateful to for its most recent grant of $30,000 to support the SLI in FY24.
