Meet Nariyah, a Paraeducator at Crotched Mountain School
When I first joined Seven Hills, I was really looking for a place where I could grow and feel supported and that鈥檚 exactly what I found. From day one, I felt like part of a team that truly cares about helping each other succeed. I鈥檝e been encouraged to take on new challenges, learn new skills, and push myself in ways I didn鈥檛 expect. The support and guidance I鈥檝e gotten here have made a huge difference in my confidence and career.
The best part, though, is the people I get to work with every day. Being able to make a positive impact on our clients鈥� lives is what keeps me motivated. Seeing their progress and knowing I played a small part in helping them reach their goals is incredibly rewarding. Seven Hills isn鈥檛 just where I work. It鈥檚 a place that鈥檚 helped me grow, both personally and professionally, while doing something that truly matters.
What are the responsibilities of a Paraeducator?
- Ensure a safe and consistent environment for students
- Enhance instructional strategies with specialized skills
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and behavior plans
- Assist educators in devising strategies to reinforce skills and positive behaviors
- Participate in planned activities with students, both on and off campus
- May include personal care such as toileting, showering, dressing, feeding, etc.
Qualifications for a Paraeducator Positions at Crotched Mountain School
- Must be 21 or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors/Associates Degree in a related field preferred but not required
- Experience with individuals with disabilities (preferred)
- Physical requirements include (but not limited to) bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting/standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must meet CCLU regulatory requirements for working with children in residential care which will be discussed during intro call
About Crotched Mountain School
Crotched Mountain School, a program of Seven Hills in New Hampshire, hosts innovative special education, recreation, arts, music, and vocational programming for students, aged 5-21, who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have disabilities and other challenges that are better supported in an alternative, least-restrictive environment to their local public school system. Students have the option to live year-round in the appointed residences on the sprawling campus located in Greenfield, New Hampshire. Situated on thousands of acres of preserved land, Crotched Mountain School offers a therapeutic environment in which students are encouraged to explore and thrive.
